Bikes, Roots, Big Tires no comments

I’ve always had a passion for mountain bikes. when I was 20-ish, I did little more than ride and fix bikes. It wasn’t very profitable back then, what with the lack of internet, craigslist, etc.
These days, I’m doing okay fixing and selling bikes. Today, I bought my first mountain bike with 29 inch wheels and disk brakes in the front! That was cool.
I fixed the 29er, took it for a quick spin, and it didn’t seem all that special. It is large, which is nice, but that seems to be all that this particular bike has going for it… it isn’t the hottest brand, and that may have something to do with it… mediocre engineering can lead to a mediocre bike. I noticed that when the rear brakes are engaged, the frame bows out!
A bike I bought recently that really got my juices flowing was this 26er Kona with a racing light frame… man, that thing was quick!

I’ve found myself working on bicycles again. About 15 years ago, I did little more than ride and repair bicycles. Now I’m back at it.
I also have some new carpet- these two don’t go well together. I try not to wear my shoes on the new carpet, but there are already a few stains on it, and my cats have dragged in a few bird corpses. Now, my six month old carpet has Texas sized carpet stains. does this mean that I need to find a carpet cleaner in Austin? Probably not. I may have exaggerated a bit, but it’s new carpet, so any stain is horrifying to me. I paid $500 to have carpet put in two rooms. Maybe http://www.thesteamteam.com/ has some carpet cleaning tips.
Meanwhile, the rest of the house has tiles, but they’re all lifting, so I won’t need any ceramic tile cleaning tips just yet. I’m thinking of wood floors for future flooring projects. Maybe not- we have a piano in the living room, it would probably do something bad to that floating floor. Maybe bare concrete is the way to go!?!?

Okay, maybe not, but 2011 is definitely NOT a musical year for me. I started working on one project way back in the beginning of the year, and I pretty much gave up. I’ve taken breaks in the past, but this one feels like a doozy. 2011 seems to be the year of “let’s make some @#$! money”. It’s about all I can think about anymore. I spend a lot of time working and a little time playing video games (BTW- Glitch is awesome).
I made this, and it seems like such a long, long time ago.
