I’ve been playing Borderlands for the last week or so. The strange thing is- when I ordered the game online, a lot of my friends were playing it. Now that I actually own the game, it seems as though absolutely nobody is playing the game. Fortunately, I want to play through it once in single player mode before doing too much co-op.

Even without friends to play with, I’m enjoying it immensely, even if I feel a bit overwhelmed by the size of the world and the number of missions.

The game provides a great fast travel system that helps overcome the mileage of the maps. That, and you can get vehicles often.

The game also provides a waypoint system that locates your objectives for you. While I feel it is making things too easy, I’d hate to have to try and find all of this stuff on my own.

Gameplay itself is pretty good, with a decent battle system that lets you play how you want to- whether you want to run and gun or sit back and snipe, there are weapons and opportunities to match your desires.

Now I just need some friends to play with so I can get a feel for the four player co-op.
